What is Keep Network?
Keep Network is a privacy layer for Ethereum that bridges public blockchains and private data sources.
Through off-chain data containers, or Keeps, the Keep Network helps smart contracts interact with personal data securely, without compromising the security of the data.
Keeps will be hosted and managed by the participants of the Keep Network, or signers.
The main components of Keep Network
Keep Network consists of the following key components that work together:
- Random Beacon Node: a tool to choose signers in a random, decentralized and cryptographically secure way. The tool works on the BLS Threshold Relay model, a trusted source for the random selection process.
- Signers: network participants who store and manage off-chain Keeps.
- Keeps: off-chain containers that store private data, helping smart contracts use data while ensuring security.
With the above components, Keep Network allows smart contracts to use private data and trade, and transfer on public blockchains.
Application of Keep Network
Keep Network has applied the above technology to enable the following unique features:
- Decentralized Signing: function as a digital signer, helping to authenticate the identity off-chain without a third party’s confirmation.
- Dead Man Switch: provide private data and lock it when necessary.
- Custodial Wallets: create a private digital wallet, used to send BTC, LTC and Dash.
- Encrypted Blockchain Storage: act as a bridge between public blockchain and private data, reducing the risk of private data hack.
- Marketplace for Digital Goods: help users trade goods while keeping private information under control until the transaction is completed.
Token KEEP
KEEP is the native utility token of Keep Network, which has the following uses:
- Governance: KEEP holders get to vote on network governance decisions.
- Staking: KEEP tokens are staked on dashboard or through a staking service provider. In addition, users can bond ETH to increase KEEP staking yield.
- Network participation: users can run nodes to maintain the network and earn rewards.
