What is Perpetual Protocol?

Perpetual Protocol is a decentralized perpetual contract platform, operated by a virtual automated market maker (vAMM). Users can trade perpetual contracts with vAMM without going through a 3rd party.

What problem does the Perpetual Protocol solve?

The process of trading on centralized exchanges (CEX) puts users’ assets and data under the management and supervision of the exchange, increasing the risk of security attacks. Therefore, Perpetual Protocol is focused on decentralization, with the following features:

  • Trustless: allow users to access the market without an intermediary.
  • Non-Custodial: help users to fully manage their own assets.
  • Transparency: operate system through smart contract on Ethereum and managed by DAO.
  • Permissionless: allow anyone to access and use the platform’s products and services.

Key features of Perpetual Protocol

The most prominent technology of Perpetual Protocol is vAMM and liquidity reserve.

vAMM can create a perpetual market for any asset whether from Chainlink, Uniswap or other platforms, as long as the asset has an on-chain price feed.

Additionally, vAMM ensures on-chain liquidity for perpetual contract trading, with prices predictable by constant product curves. The vAMMs are market-neutral and fully collateralized.

Perpetual Protocol currently supports 9 perpetual trading pairs which are AAVE, BTC, COMP, DOT, ETH, SUSHI, SNX, LINK and YFI. A new trading pair will be listed every week.
